During a waiting period, God is not only working in our hearts, He’s working in others’ hearts. And all the while He is giving added strength. Remember Isaiah’s words about waiting? Yet those who wait for the LORD
Will gain new strength;
They will mount up with wings like eagles,
They will run and not get tired,
They will walk and not become weary.
(Isaiah 40:31)
From this verse we learn that four things happen when we wait.
First, we gain new strength. We may feel weak, even intimidated, when we turn to our Lord. While waiting, amazingly we exchange our weakness for His strength.
Second, we get a better perspective. It says we “will mount up with wings like eagles.”
Eagles can spot fish in a lake several miles away on a clear day. By soaring like eagles while waiting, we gain perspective on our situation.
Third, we store up extra energy. “We will run and not get tired.” Notice, it’s future tense.
When we do encounter the thing we have been dreading, we will encounter it with new strength—extra energy will be ours to use.
Fourth, we will deepen our determination to persevere. We “will walk and not become weary.”
The Lord whispers reassurance to us. He puts steel in our bones, so to speak. We begin to feel increasingly more invincible.
We’ll gain new strength. We’ll get a better perspective. We’ll store up extra energy.
We’ll deepen our determination to persevere. All that happens when we . . . wait.
If I’ve learned anything so far..it’s that it’s not all about me at all! The test or trial I see is usually going to affect more than just me, some even worse, but some even better. And we won’t ever know till the end all the little things in life that we did or didn’t do that changed the course of someone else’s life forever. It reminds me now of this video on God tube I saw yesterday…It’s different because the trial or sacrifice in story is one only God could handle, but it’t nice to think that maybe one of our trials as humans could affect one somone else in a positive way like God doe for us everyday….I’ll post the video below. The kid that made it did a really good job!
So even though I know any trial life has instore for me God has by back and wont let me fall, why am I still so scared of the unknown? The future is so frightening and living in the past is all I’ve ever known how to do. So I’m taking the missionary approach to life. I have no plans for myself anymore…I’m just going to live day by day and follow God’s hand to show me the right direction. At least now His path always becomes ridiculosly apparent and right in front of me. I just pray the devil keeps far away from me. I used to be so easily fooled and mislead. I guess that’s why now I just stay around the people I know that love me. When I’m more prepared by God, I think then I will be able to go anywhere. I used to think I could associate with whoever and be in any crowd and not let it change me, but in a way it has to eventually. More on that later…The devil is probably really upset I’m not so gullible anymore… ha!
Well this is one of those trials that reaches that makes you wonder how it could be any harder….
Faith is a wonderful blessing!
I love Steven Curtis Chapman, I think he my favorite artist of all time. Bot only is he an amazing witness to people, but he adopts also!!! He has one adoption song that is really wonderful too.

I am a girl just trying to follow the path God has for me. I'm a daughter, sister, and recent birth mom of a beautiful baby girl who is was adopted into a wonderful family. Lately, I have a lot of spare time and I spend most of it trying to make sense of things through writing. I graduated college in 2005 with a degree in Child Development Psychology and Theology (which prepares you for so many jobs..) I hope to be a writer someday, but my grammar and spelling still need a lot of work! ...read more
